Unwinding after the school year

It's almost the end of the school year and we're nearing my boy's finals week. This is undoubtedly the busiest and most stressful week for both of us as he will be graduating from Grade School before the month ends. Since his school adopted a transition program to K-12 (which I will be writing about in a separate post) the Grade 6 boys have already started learning 1st trimester Grade 7 concepts this last trimester. Since my boy doesn't have Grade 7 textbooks yet and most of the lessons are based on their notes and handouts, I decided not to make reviewers for him anymore and let him make one for himself. Besides, it has already been our agreement that I'd stop making reviewers for him once he reaches High School. Don't worry, I'll still be making free worksheets for The24HourMommy.com, hehehe...

Although I was saved from making reviewers this week, I still have to devote time to help him review for his final exams and the grand finals of DepEd's Kulturang Pinoy Year 3 that will happen right after his school exams. Win or lose, I promised Rap that our buffet dinner at HEAT will push through after the competition. He's been waiting for that for ages! He's also planning to ask some of his classmates out for an after-school year swimming party just like last year when they went to Club Manila East. As for me, I'm lining up my own activities so I can unwind after this hectic and toxic school year!

Here are just some of the activities I have in mind:

  • Massage time with the hubby. Good thing I still have The Spa gift cards that I won in  raffle months ago. Oooh, I can't wait to have a soothing Swedish massage after a quick dip in the jacuzzi.
  • Hand and Foot Spa with Mani-Pedi. I usually do my nails but I think I deserve a break once in while. Probably, this time, I'll try one of those nail spa home services offered in our neighborhood.
  • Zumba and Aero and Sculpt sessions. Recently, my friend Iris of PinayAds.com and I joined an evening Zumba class in an events place in the neighboring town of Taytay, Rizal. Guess what? It only cost us Php 75 per session! We're definitely going every week for the Tuesday Zumba class and Thursday Aero and Sculpt session.

I can't wait for this school year to end! But for now, I need to go back to my cigars bundles research assignment for a client so I can have moolah for all these, haha! Hope you and your kids also have a relaxing school break!
