Cleaning silver with baking soda

Baking soda is a regular item in my pantry. Not only do I use it for baking, I also use it for cleaning. A favorite trick of mine is using baking soda to clean my silverware and silver accessories.

Here's how you do it:

  1. Boil water enough to cover the silver items that you are going to clean.
  2. Prepare a separate bowl for the cleaning by covering its insides with aluminum foil.
  3. Place the silver items on top of the aluminum foil and pour the freshly boiled water over it.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda gradually over the hot water and shake the bowl a little. This will create a foamy (and smelly!) chemical reaction that will work to remove the tarnish on the silver items.

I've tried it with my pandora charms before and it worked like magic! Try it!
