Plan Ahead

When it comes to visiting Indonesia you will need to think about much more than just where you want to go. Make sure that you check to see if you need to get a visa to travel to the country, as it will vary dependant on where you come from. Start looking into this early to allow yourself the necessary time required to get this sorted.

Check out any travel advice provided by your government. While Indonesia is safe on the whole, there are active volcanos on many of the islands. There may be recommendations against staying within a certain distance of any of these volcanos.

Picking the right time of year to visit is vital. Indonesia is prone to some severe downpours and is known for its rainy season. If you want to avoid these tropical storms, try and visit between May and September.

Shop around for flights using a website such as Skyscanner and try and find the best deals. Remember that this may be a long haul flight, so consider your comfort as well as the price. A great tip when searching for flights is to use incognito browsing to avoid saving cookies to your device. Flight websites are designed to increase prices on repeat visits.

Where To Stay

There are 17,000 different islands so it’s going to be hard to choose where exactly to stay. Bali is a very popular destination and may well offer enough of the necessities to make your visit comfortable whilst being quiet enough to relax.

You could always stop on a number of different islands. Why not take in a few days in the vast capital city Jakarta and get lost in the midst of it all. Situated on the island of Java, this megacity offers museums, monuments, and a great nightlife. But with the islands being vastly spread apart, plan your island hopping adventures well in order to save yourself time and the expense of multiple flights.

If you are planning a longer visit, you may want to look at renting an apartment in Jual Beli Rumah. If your visa permits you may be able to stay for a number of months.

Where To Visit

There are a few places that are musts when it comes to Indonesia. Uncle Tan’s wildlife camp in Borneo offers the chance to get close to some of the most amazing creatures, the orangutan. The Poring hot springs are a natural complex that you can really become one with nature at. Soak in the waters and let your troubles wash away.

A trip to the Komodo national park will bring you face-to-face with the world’s largest lizards. The famous Komodo dragons can measure up to ten foot long, and weigh over seventy kilos. You may find this a bit scary, but don’t worry, you would need to visit their natural habitat with a guide so you will be perfectly safe. And don’t worry, they don’t breath fire.

What To Do

The waters that surround the islands of Indonesia make for excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. If you are a fan of wildlife and the tranquil beauty that lies under the ocean, then there is nowhere quite like Batu Batong. With manta rays and dolphins, you will be stunned by the amazing creatures that you will see. If you fancy something a bit different, why not explore the wreck of the HMS Victory which is situated just off Bali?

A trip to the 1000 islands may be one of the best ways to relax. Situated near Java, these islands as close as you can get to the Maldives outside of the Maldives! With homes built over the water, beautiful beaches, and an amazing aquarium, you can relax and enjoy the world at your own pace here.

With everything you could imagine and more on offer in Indonesia, this often overlooked destination is well worth adding to your list of places to visit. So get planning for a holiday that will no doubt give you some of the most truly amazing memories which will promise to last a lifetime. You never know, you may well be itching to go straight back to this amazing country.
