Licealiz Battling Lice Infestation One Barangay at a Time

About one-third of elementary public school students in the Philippines suffer from head lice problems. Children are either teased, bullied or ignored for having head lice, which is a common cause for some of them to miss school. And though parents try their best to comb out their children’s lice with their suyod, it is often not enough to remove lice that can lay up to 100 eggs in a week.

Aside from being an inconvenience to their hosts, head lice are a menace to the whole community. They are easily transmitted in homes and schools, between friends, classmates and family members and the stigma associated with being infested can leave lasting damage to people’s reputations and psychological well-being.

To combat this, Licealiz head lice treatment shampoo is conducting the Licealiz Pilipinas, Kuto Free Ka Na Ba? Nationwide Oplan Alis Kuto. Aiming to raise awareness about lice infestation issues, the Licealiz team will be going to different schools and barangays all over the country to educate communities on lice prevention and treatment, and arranging shampooing programs and activities for students.
Licealiz effectively kills lice and nits and prevents recurring lice infestations after two weeks of use. Its active ingredient pyrethrin is clinically tested and proven as safe and successful in killing lice, while its conditioning formula keeps hair soft, smooth and fragrant. Licealiz also comes in a Soothing Coolness variant with cooling extract that gives the scalp a fresh relaxing feeling.

This July and August, the Licealiz team will be travelling to Taguig (July 27 at Tenement Elementary School), Las Pi̱as (August 1 at CAA Elementary School), Para̱aque (August 3 at Fourth Estate Elementary School), Quezon City (August 5 at Rosa L. Susano РNovaiches Elementary School, August 10 at Bagong Silangan Elementary School, August 12 at Pres. Corazon C. Aquino Elementary School), Pasig (August 17 at Nagpayong Elementary School, Ilugin Elementary School - Nagpayong Annex) and Antipolo (August 19 at Juan Sumulong Elementary School, August 24 at Sta. Cruz Elementary School) for Nationwide Oplan Alis Kuto. They will also be visiting more schools in Visayas and Mindanao over the next few months.

  3. this is a very nice program... i remember when I was a kid, i used to have these pesky kuto and my Lola used to scold me... keso nagbibilad daw lagi sa araw, di daw lagi nagshashampoo haha... so yeah, i know how irritatin it is when it comes to kuto LOL at least kids today can now apply shampoo that is meant to solve this issue and they no longer need to spend forever sa pag"susuyod" haha

  4. And that is how it should be done. Selling commercial products, Licealiz going barangay level and offering education. Yes, they are promoting their products, but the value in return is valuable - education.

  7. This is a great program and very timely din! It's very common naman talaga that the students have these lice and I had it too back then. Buti nalang my mom was really determined to solve it and ako naman was very cooperative that time kasi nga ayaw ko din sa kuto. Nakakahiya. HAHA.

  8. I honestly thought kuto is a thing of the past and kids nowadays don't get it anymore. I remember mommies rely before on using suyod lang. It's great that there's a product for this problem and the advocacy program.

  11. I remember my student nursing days where we would do medical missions and out reach to elementary schools. This is a great advocacy for students and kids to teach them proper hygiene. :D I remember I had a case of lice when I was in my elementary days. My mom and lola used gugo and hot coconut oil plus 'suyod' as a solution though. LOL

  12. It's really nice to hear these kind of companies do their outreach / campaign as a form of their promotion. Lice infestation is really serious for those people in the slums or poor villages. When I was a preschool teacher years ago, I remember some of my students couldn't afford to take a bath. So these kids had a really big problem with lice infestation. Hopefully, with this campaign, they'll be able to help a lot of people.

  13. Good thing that licealiz is still alive! Honestly, I thought it has been phased out. this is really helpful particularly for moms who have kids with long hair. these days, we can't avoid having lice particularly if your kids are prone to mingling who are exposed to such problem. It's such a good news to hear that licealize have this oplan alis kuto. I hope they'll expand this nationwide.
