My first San Juan Wattah Wattah Festival experience

I spent my childhood years in Manila and every June 24, we celebrate Manila Day with a basaan festival since it coincides with the feast of St. John the Baptist. This year though, I have finally experienced this "wet and wild" fiesta right smack in the City of San Juan where the Wattah Wattah Festival is held every year to commemorate the feast of the city's patron saint.

Me and Mommy Pehpot, all dressed up with our hydro-chromatic shirts and ready to get wet!
I was part of the media team that Downy invited to participate in the parade. We were all provided with raincoats, boots, and water guns. Binabasa nila kami, binabasa ko rin sila with water mixed with Downy Sunrise Fresh! Ang saya!

Bawal ang pikon sa basaan! Good vibes!
Aboard the Downy truck, we proceeded with the convoy going to the Plaza Mayor along N. Domingo Street. There was a grand program held for the citizens of San Juan that spread the fiesta feel all the more.

Wattah! Wattah!
We joined in the water games after and boy was I wet!  I thought I was already spared from getting wet because I was wearing a raincoat all throughout the parade, haha! Anyway, it was no hassle at all because Downy provided a huge dryer for everyone to use.

Besides, if I didn't get wet in the basaan games, I wouldn't be able to see the hidden message that was on the hydro-chromatic Downy shirt I was wearing that day. It's the first of its kind in the Philippines, by the way.

Downy Brand Manager Nocile Vilarojo speaking about the advantages of using
Downy Sunrise Fresh with quick-dry formula.
Downy Sunrise Fresh with quick-dry formula would really be helpful during this wet rainy season especially for those households without dryers. Don't you hate it when it's raining and you can't hang wet clothes outside to dry? Worse, it will have a damp, musty-odor because of the prolonged wetness. and lack of sunlight. I've been an avid Downy user ever since and will continue to do so because of this new quick-dry formula.

My basaan experience at the San Juan Wattah Wattah Festival was really one for the books! I would join one next year, probably with the husband and we'll go to Balayan, Batangas where we have relatives. How about you? Have you tried joining a basaan festival? Would you be brave enough to get wet?
