There are many people who are dealing with the issue of how to remove pet odor from their home. A homeowner may have adopted a new puppy that he or she is housetraining. Perhaps the puppy has urinated on the carpeting and floors in the home. The messes were cleaned up by the homeowner, but there is still a lingering odor in each of the rooms. This is just one example of a homeowner in need of pet odor removal. Look at some other common scenarios experienced by many pet owners.
I have already donned so many hats, aside from being a mom and a wife 24/7. I have been a teacher, a writer, a photographer, a blogger, and just lately, a businesswoman. I think, being a Gemini gives me the perfect excuse of being a "Jane of all trades." Yet, as many as these roles may seem, I believe that I have performed each with passion. Without passion, I know I wouldn't be able to fulfill my tasks successfully.
I know I'm not the only mom donning so many hats. Electrolux's new digital brand ambassadors, celebrity mom Cheska Garcia-Kramer, chef Rosebud Benitez-Velasco, and mompreneur Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva are also passionate in their own respective fields.
This infographic illustrates the rise of online education in society. With online education, learning can now be done anywhere and anyone who is interested can have access to education. Online education is personalized, can be done through multiple format options, and can be accessed anytime.
I remember when I was still enrolled in my online graduate course, I would log in to our learning portal which was essentially our online classroom. There, I was able to read notes and assignments from my professors. I was also able to interact with my classmates and teachers which was very much alike to internet forums nowadays. Of course, I also had my modules with me which were the university issued workbooks for distance learners like us. I had classmates who were way older or younger than me which made discussions really exciting! I had classmates from different provinces in the country and also from across the globe, Filipino teachers abroad who chose to continue their graduate studies online. It was really such a worthwhile experience that I'm glad I was able to do in my lifetime.
With the education I gained online, I was able to shift from being a stay-at-home mom to a preschool teacher. I was also able to apply what I learned in helping my son study at home. You know, I was even able to use my training in instructional and assessment material development in the worksheets that I'm sharing in this blog. I also gained the trust of parents who hire me to tutor their kids.
If you're also thinking of enrolling in an online course, don't hesitate to do so. I'm sure it will be such an exciting and rewarding new chapter in your life just like how it was with mine.
Refuses To Seek Medical Treatment
A clear warning sign that your loved one has an alcohol addiction is when they refuse to seek medical treatment due to problems caused by alcohol. Many will ascertain the problems have nothing to do with alcohol, or will deny the problems altogether.
There’s something so magical about spring time. The first blooms of the season make you feel like you’re in a flowering wonderland. It’s also the time of the year where your hedges need to be maintained the most. However, if you’re like me, you’d much prefer to look at the blossoms than be out there with your pruning shears every few days. Luckily, there are some types of hedges that require very little maintenance, yet make your home look like something out of Better Homes and Gardens. Here’s the top five hedges for the lazy gardener.
Camellia Sasanqua, often referred to as the tough camellia, is known for its ability to withstand harsh conditions through both summer and winter. They start to blossom white, pale pink or cerise coloured flowers generally around late autumn and early winter. A camellia can grow up to six metres, which is perfect for those looking to add a substantial amount of privacy to their homes. I know what you are thinking, six metres seems like a lot to maintain, but camellias are very self-sufficient and only require a bit of pruning after they start blossoming. To encourage a healthy regrowth, plant them in a rich soil and water them deeply every now and again to avoid waterlogging. For a bit of variety, choose different coloured camellias and line them down your driveway to create an extravagant oasis.
Spring is here and you want your garden to be in top shape. The flowers are blooming and the trees have been pruned, but how do you maintain a healthy lawn? A significant addition to your garden, it’s important to keep your lawn fresh and healthy. The more you take notice of your timing and techniques, the less effort it will take. Here are three tips to help it thrive this spring.
Don't get me wrong. When my husband get's sick, I willingly take care of him because I know he does need some tender loving care after all the hardwork he's done in the office. Besides, that's why he got sick right? But since I also have other things to do, his sickness does get in the way. I'm not the only mom and wife with this dilemma, you know. Even Vanessa, wife of celebrity talk show host RJ Ledesma, also shared how she needs to give special attention to her husband when he has the flu.
I know that this sudden transition to manchild is just caused by his constant cough and throbbing head. The sooner my husband gets better, the sooner he goes back to his usual, strong and hardworking self. The best solution for this is to fill his three needs - physical comfort, mental tranquility, and tender affection.

Gun ownership is on the rise, but people need a way to keep the guns secured. Trigger locks are an effective safety measure, but a gun safe is the ideal solution. If you have a collection of guns, consider fire resistant gun safes at GunSafesNow.com. Consider these benefits of securing your weapons inside a proper safe.
Yes, Rap had trouble with Math in Pisay. It is in this subject that he experienced his first failing mark in a quiz which explains why he was so anxious of getting a failing grade. Although he was already doing advanced Algebra in his Kumon worksheets, Grade 7 Math in Pisay is still more advanced so he had a few problems adjusting during the first lessons.
Getting everything ready for a new baby is no small task. The job is made even tougher if it is your first baby. You have no idea what to expect and what you might need. Most baby books will give you an idea of what you need to pack in your hospital bag, and safety tips on how to make your home ready for your new arrival, but there is limited information on what you actually need once you get your little bundle home. Retailers are the first to cash in on your inexperience as parents, and you name it, there is a product for it.
Speak to friends and relatives that have already had babies for advice on what is actually necessary. The more recently they have become parents the better, as older family members will likely be unaware of new products that could make your life much easier as you adapt to life with your new addition. There are some great items on the market that combine to do the job of more than one. For example a high chair that converts into a small table and chair for toddlers, or a cot that turns into a small single bed. These items will save you money in the long run as you will not have to replace them after the first year.
Watsons, the leading health and beauty retailer that provides you with everything you need to look good and feel great, honors this year’s biggest and brightest brands in the Watsons Health Wellness Beauty Awards. Watsons continues to live up to its promise of bringing more to the lives of our Filipino customers. Aside from great savings, exclusive member privileges, and freebies, it recommends the most effective products for your daily health and beauty needs, assuring you with the best possible care. Watsons holds the annual HWB Awards to help consumers choose only the best health, personal care, skincare, cosmetics, and hair care products, thus getting more value for their money.
I felt the need to ditch the Tab because I have the iPad, anyways. Besides, since it was bought it 2010, its specs were already slow for my requirements. I wanted to replace it with a dual sim phone so I can also get rid of the Corby and further lighten my load. My blogger friends, Iris (PinayAds.com) and Jennie (MarriageandBeyond.com) are already proud owners of MyPhone handsets, and I noticed how durable their units are so I scouted a MyPhone for myself, too. That was in the last week of July, the same time when MyPhone launched the Agua Iceberg.
So, here it is, my first ever MyPhone handset, the MyPhone Agua Iceberg. A warning though, I'm not really a gadget reviewer so this post will mostly talk about the features I love about my new blogging companion.
I bought this unit last week and took advantage of the 0% interest installment promo at the Automatic Centre in Eastwood Mall. Since my credit card is HSBC, I got it for Php 999/month for 12 months (Php 11,988). BPI and RCBC card owners can buy it at 0% interest on a 24-month installment plan and the promo is only until Aug. 31, 2013. The offer can also be availed at Automatic Centre Gateway.
Included in the box is the Quick Start Guide manual, the MyPhone MyApps guide, a charger and the headset with extra in-ear buds. I read comments in other Agua Iceberg write-ups that this box sports a sleeker design compared to the boxes of the earlier MyPhone units.
Here's a quick peek of its awesome specs:

For a more general approach to get you started, here are some important factors to consider before buying your next family car.

As we grow older, the skin produces less collagen and thus becomes less resilient. Add to that, there are hormonal changes and weight changes that also contribute to the appearance of stretch marks on our skin. My stretch marks don't just look ugly, they're itchy as well!

|Washing "Ondoy-stricken" clothes manually because we had no power for a week.|
- Dissolve detergent powder thoroughly before putting the clothes in the washer. This way, there will be no residues of detergent on the clothes. Also, make sure that your detergent is kept in a moisture-free area to avoid lumps.
- Pre-treat obvious stains. I used to wash my younger brothers' soiled clothes. I was taught to soak the soiled clothes in soapy water hours before it's washed in the machine to make cleaning easier.
- Sort clothes according to color, fabric, and use. My parents' office clothes and our school uniforms are always washed first before the houseclothes that are normally dirtier.
- Check the pockets for items such as coins and paper. I hated it when I miss to remove tissue paper from my sister's skirt pocket. Such a hassle removing lint and fiber after!
- Place small and sensitive pieces of clothing such as lingerie and brassieres inside net laundry bags before adding them to the load.
- Make sure to tie drawstrings before washing the shorts or pants in the machine unless you want to spend time untangling them after.
Giving medicine to kids can be hard sometimes. And although most vitamins are already flavored to attract kids, it still can be a hassle for busy moms to give vitamins in syrup form. I know I did have a hard time with Rap since we were always in a hurry. I'm just glad that there are chewable vitamins that made my job easier.
A new player in the kiddie vitamin arena is Champs chewable vitamins. Manufactured by the Chemical Company of Malaysia (CCM), the largest generic drug company in Malaysia, Champs come in different chewable variants that will suit your child's taste and daily vitamin requirement.
"Turbo" is the story of an underdog garden snail named Theo (Ryan Reynolds) who idolizes a French Canadian racing driver and dreams of becoming the fastest racer in the world. He's frustrated with the slow-paced life he has along with his protective brother, Chet (Paul Giamatti), and the other garden snails of his community.
To shop online typically requires some form of plastic, but for many people, credit just isn't an option. That's where the allure of prepaid debit cards come in. When you're shopping online for a great deal, the last thing you want to worry about is incurring debt.
So I try to make ever weekend special for me and the boys. On our first school weekend, we went with friends to Potipot Island.
The following weekend, we watched Man of Steel and World War Z back to back!

My boy grew up to be a techie kid. I guess, it was expected since my husband and I speak the same techie language. He has his gadgets and knows his way well in the different social networks. Do I feel my son's in danger of being abused in the cyber world? Well, I did for a while and that was before I did my homework. Now, I know my son's tech safe because I made sure that I knew how to protect his data privacy. But not all parents are as tech savvy which is why more kids are not protected online.
Last June 6, 2013, a forum on data privacy in education was held by Vibal Foundation, Inc., the same company that introduced our very own WikiPilipinas (I'm one of the content editors there, hehehe). The forum gathered education leaders, parents, teachers, and government representatives, to discuss matters concerning data privacy in education.
I was all ears when the discussion started because everything was relevant to parenting in this digital age. For instance, Jeff Gould of SafeGov.org talked about data mining in schools. He stressed that "Appropriate policies, laws, or regulations must be put in place as soon as possible" to protect kids from data privacy violation.

Last week, after the Parents' Orientation, Rap was finally assigned a room and we were able to visit it. Before leaving, I took note of the things that we need to bring for him to be comfortable in what would be his home for the whole school year. Since the rent is subsidized by the government, the room is as bare as it is with only the bare essentials. We need to provide our own beddings and even cleaning stuff such as Rap's own broom and dust bin.
His uniforms are already pressed and hanged and his house clothes are now neatly folded in his luggage. I also packed the school supplies he normally uses in making projects such as his coloring pens and pencils, stapler, sticky tape, puncher, and sharpener. Of course, I still want him to continue the study habits I instilled in him since Grade School so his task board (checklist on white board) comes along with him to the dorm. He will also be bringing his crucifix and Bible and I reminded him to pray and read the Bible at least before he goes to sleep.
Aside from these, I also packed a small first aid kit which also includes his vitamins and health supplements. My boy needs to be healthy and strong enough to face the rigorous academic requirement of Pisay. One of the health supplements he will be taking is Circulan. I know that there will be sleepless nights ahead so he needs to have good blood circulation to combat anemia. Circulan is contains four potent herbs that promote proper blood circulation:
- Hawthorn berries - Helps the heart in pumping blood.
- Gingko Biloba - Increases the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. It also strengthens the blood vessels which my son badly needs because of his bout with Kawasaki Disease in the past.
- Garlic Oil extract - Helps prevent bad cholesterol build up in the blood.
- Lemon Balm - Relaxes the smooth muscle of the heart.
Circulan is safe for 12 years old and above, but since Rap's choco drink already has Gingko Biloba and other memory enhancing herbs, he only takes a capsule a day.
I'm kind of sad that I will only get to see my boy every weekend and school breaks. Still, I know that living in the dorm will teach him to be more independent and mature. It's time for him to spread his wings and fly with me just watching from the side lines.

Last week, Wyeth ProMama sponsored an event where a the council of Fit and Fab mamas, Amanda Griffin-Jacob, Delamar Arias, and Tricia Chiongbian-Concepcion distinguished pregnancy facts from myths with the help of pregnancy experts Dra Christia Padolina and Dra. Angel Bandola.
The book I'm reading now, The Time Keeper, is written by one of my favorite authors, Mitch Albom. I've read all his books, including the more well-know ones, Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven. An excellent storyteller, Albom has once again captivated my imagination while touching my inner being with the message of his story.

Nowadays, we don't have to wait for a relative coming from the province just so we can enjoy the taste of native chicken. There are now brands in the market selling free-range chicken. Recently, I learned that not all of them are free-range chicken but are actually just cage-free. This bit of trivia came from no other than the other half of the husband and wife team behind Pamora Farm, the home of real free-range chicken, Gerard Papillon.
