How Josiah’s Catering Keep Employees for More Than a Decade

Rainy season is fever season. Don't you agree? It is during this time when fever-related sicknesses become prevalent such as influenza, leptospirosis, typhoid fever, and dengue fever. I'm having problems with our 1-year old Brother DCP-195C printer/scanner/copier. The black ink doesn't come out right no matter how many times I have performed the cleaning process. I even bought a new black ink cartridge in high hopes of having texts and photos come out better but to no avail. I'm a bit frustrated because we need the printer especially at this time of the year when there are tons of school projects to be done.
If there's one good thing that this printer trouble has brought me is the fact that we have gone back to the basics. We did my son's school projects the good 'ol fashioned way - using colored markers, crayons, and cut-outs!
Rap was kinda sad that his projects are not computerized because he still needs improvement in his penmanship. Being a teacher myself, I reminded him that teachers give special points to those who gave extra effort in creating school projects. True enough, he came home today bragging about how his teacher gave complimented his work in front of the whole class.
Still, I will be needing a printer. Maybe I should start scouting for inkjet printers this early. Brother support told me that it would cost me around three thousand pesos just in case the printer head needs to be replaced. I bought the unit last year for only Php 3,400. I'm not stupid enough to pay 3K for the service. I'll just bring the unit to HMR and buy a new one, ha! I won't buy any Brother product ever again!

Judy Ann Santos is in the stage of her life where her kids have become her top priority. Being a certified box office and award winning actress, she often finds it hard to leave the house to work and to be away from the kids even just for a few hours. Indeed, Juday has transformed from the child actress Pinoys loved to the doting mom of Yohan and Lucho.

Such is her concern for her kids that even in choosing for their skin care, she trusts only one brand - Johnson & Johnson. She admits that she is a J&J baby, growing up using Johnson & Johnson products. Naturally, she passes it on to her two children.
Yohan and Lucho may be worlds apart when it comes to their age but Johnson's Baby Milk Bath is the perfect cleanser for both of them. It gently cleanses delicate skin while preventing dryness which causes irritation. It has 100% more milk proteins and vitamins A and E that nourish the skin. Most of all, it is clinically proven mild and has the "no more tears" formula which is suited well for babies and younger kids.
Johnson's Baby Milk Bath isn't just for babies and kids. Even moms can use it in bathing. In fact, Judy Ann uses the same Johnson's Baby Milk Bath that her kids love. "I'm definitely gonna keep using Johnson's," she guarantees.
Johnson's Baby Milk Bath is available in these sizes:

At almost the same time last year, I was invited to grace the You & Me & Mommy breastfeeding event held at SM Megamall. It was during that event that I was made fully aware of the benefits of breastfeeding. My sister was still 7 months pregnant with Tiki that time and I found it a good time to educate her with the leaflets, brochures, and knowledge I got during the breastfeeding talks. My niece is now a happy and healthy 9 month old. She can now stand up and make small steps on her own. I and other friends and family members agree that she has strong bones all because of exclusive breastfeeding. Tiki was exclusively breastfed during her first six months in life. She took nothing, not even water, but breastmilk.
It is a fact that breastfeeding can reduce the number of deaths of children under age five, yet only 36% of babies in developing countries are exclusively breastfed. Meanwhile, only 34% of Filipina mothers exclusively breastfeed their babies during the first six months and the number drops 2% every year.
Research has shown that deaths of children under five are reduced by 13%. when babies are exclusively breastfed in the first six months and are still breastfed up to two years of age. Breastmilk gives babies a strong immune system and also makes them grow taller. Best of all, it's free!
UNICEF believes that educating mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding should go beyond hospitals and clinics. We should all do our share in informing them that BREASTFEEDING SAVES BABIES' LIVES.
In the Philippines, UNICEF is working hand-in-hand with the government, the private sector, various NGOs, breastfeeding advocates, and mothers to promote breastfeeding. UNICEF also helps peer support networks, reaches out to mothers in communities and workplaces, and supports human milk banks and the enforcement of the Milk Code to promote a breastfeeding culture in the country.
This year's Global Breastfeeding Week emphasizes that everyone in the community, especially fathers, have an important role in raising awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding. It also recognizes the role of social networking sites, blogs, mobile phones, the arts, and flash mobs, in spreading awareness of this campaign.
I have written a series of breastfeeding posts last year. I hope you can give time to read and share them with others so that more and more people will know the limitless benefits of breastfeeding babies.

I have been publishing in this blog my son's exam reviewers since he was in Grade 3. I decided to share it my co-parents in my son's school. Eventually, I found it was helpful for other parents who are having a difficult time finding relevant supplemental worksheets in reviewing their children especially in Filipino and Sibika at Kultura/Araling Panlipunan subjects.
I allow readers to download the PDF files of my worksheets and print them as well. Anyway, the kids will greatly benefit from this free sharing of learning materials. I only have a small reminder, though. The worksheets are only for personal use and my watermark should be kept intact.
This reminder is not just for parents but also for other teachers and tutors who find my work useful in their teaching. I have invested so much time and effort in these worksheets/reviewers. I took time to stop my research in life insurance packages and health entries just to have time to create these. Even my tasks at home are put on hold when I write these reviewers. These are a made with a lot of love and sacrifice so I hope the people concerned can grant my request.

I just had my first home service hair rebonding care of my gay nephew who works in a known salon. (I can't disclose the name because they're not allowed to provide home service to clients.) The results were great and it's the same as any salon rebonding. The best thing was, my total cash-out including labor was less than a thousand bucks for that session. To think that my hair is waist-length!
We used Ah Glow products (Php 550 for the straightener and neutralizer each at 300 grams) for the hair rebonding and Shine Moist Henna Wax (Php 650 for 500 ml). My hair only used 1/3 of both the straightener and the neutralizer and even the henna wax so I still have some for our next session next year. The expiration date is 2013 anyway.
I'm happy that my nephew has reinvented himself from being a server in my mom's canteen to a senior hairstylist in the salon he works for. He is TESDA trained and has also earned his experience through working in different salons. He saves money to buy his own equipment and I like the fact that he also plans to get a TESDA license so he can be an instructor. I know he has an inclination to teach because I caught him once pretending to teach to an imaginary class in my tutorial center.
I promised him that I'd buy him a new hair brush for Christmas. I may also get some redenvelope gift baskets for her/him to show my appreciation (Rap calls him Ate/Kuya by the way). I'm just so happy that I finally have my own professional hair stylist.

I’m not much of a fan of automated teller machines (ATMs). I dread the long queues and I feel panicky whenever I withdraw cash. I get suspicious of people lined behind me and even those standing near the ATM for fear of them getting hold of my PIN and knowing how much money I have in my account. I worry about getting robbed after I withdraw. Yes, I’m that praning. But as I’d always say, “better praning than sorry.”
As much as possible, I don’t bring large amounts of cash when I go out especially when am just commuting. I prefer paying using my ATM card, my credit card, or my Visa Debit card. Since I don’t want to be drowned in debt, I seldom use my credit card. In fact, I only charge if there’s an item on 0% installment or when I’m obliged to spend a certain amount to have my annual fees waived. I do use my ATM card for purchases but not all establishments accept ATM payments. This is where my Visa Debit card comes in handy.
Like a Visa credit card, a Visa Debit card also lets you enjoy cashless shopping. The only difference is that the amount you are paying is automatically deducted from the bank account where the debit card is linked. Credit cards employ the “buy now, pay later” scheme which is, in short, plain and simple debt. Debit cards help impose discipline in spending by having the cardholder spend only what his account can afford.
And because a Visa Debit card is linked to a savings/checking account, it can also function as any ATM card would. Visa Debit cards can be used to withdraw money in any currency from ATMs around the world having the Visa logo. I have an EON Visa debit card which is linked to my PayPal account. I basically receive all payments from my online clients through PayPal and I withdraw my funds using my EON Visa Debit card in any ATM machine in the country. Of course, bank withdrawal charges apply depending on the machine I used.
Here are just a few reminders in using a debit card when shopping:
Do you have a Visa Debit card? How has it helped you in paying for purchases?

- Know how much money your account has before using your debit card. Remember, that the amount will be deducted immediately from your account.
- Always keep the receipt as reference. Since there will be no monthly billing statements coming in, you’ll have limited resources in keeping track of what you’re spending. Or better yet, if your bank has online banking facilities, sign up for an online account so you can view your debit card transactions anytime, anywhere.
- Contact the bank ASAP for any errors during your purchase.
